The Hmar People

The people of the Hmar tribe of northeast India were once fierce headhunters, infamous for their vicious slayings. But in 1910, Welsh missionary Watkin Roberts sent the Gospel of John to a Hmar chief.

The chief invited Roberts to come and explain the Scriptures. He went despite a ban by the British Colonial rulers, and five young tribesmen chose to follow Jesus.

The converts grew in faith and became leaders of a new, energetic church. Within two generations, the entire Hmar tribe was evangelized. Headhunting stopped and "heart-hunting" began. Read More

Infography - A Graphic Designers Pipeline

Infography on a GraphicDesigner Pipeline

Oh well, here is my first Infographic Creation on the topic " Pipeline for a Graphic Designer". It is an assignment given to us. I give my thank's to Ratan Sir for this, as it help me in discovering so many new stuffs. It took me 2 nights to complete the designing. Long back i did my research on the steps which i can compromise and use. Finally found a perfect reference here. The next step here was the elements i am to used in representing the flow. I tried my best to do it on my own, meaning not to depend on easily available download icons. As we know there are more than enough icons and graphics available for use. I look for it though, since shapes were quite limited in Adobe Photoshop. The beautiful box on top containing heading Infography and at the bottom, that small box containing APPROVED are downloaded ( medialoot and pixedon ) and used. I claim no credits for those two. The rest are all customize and made in photoshop, plus the custom shape available in it are quite handy here. As this is my first creation it made me so happy, though it contain so many imperfections :D

Firstly, I would like to introduce the fonts i used in this art.
Signarita Zhai, Leftheria, Construthinvian, Dense, Vodka

And secondly into the sketching. The textures appearing here are obtained by applying filters as follow:

Inner t-shirt- FG -sponge

Top shirt- FG-rough pastel

Pants- FG-Film grain

Skin- add noise(very small amount)

Today in my post, I've attached the .psd file (download) in case it might be useful to anyone in any possible way.Here, you will be able to see the layers i worked on. 

The steps used in this project is as usual, firstly making an outline sketch from reference if available, round brush -hard and soft, dragging the opacity and flow when necessary, multiple layers for each and so on.

In the art is a composition of few lines dedicated to whoever feel lost, beaten, weak and down. It goes like this,

The world goes on, Time goes by, People come and go, Good days versus bad days. In the end nothing really matter. The only thing that matter, How you deal with what matters. EVERYTHING'S GONA BE ALRIGHT.Why the earth goes round and round ?, Trying hard to kick your butt, don't let it happen. HAVE FAITH.

I'm grateful i can make this work and post it though i'm quite unwell.It is the love of art which is driving me around i believe. And also Riryn, tq for the photo that i could work on.

For each day of those lives i look upon.

Sometimes i imagine knowing you, maybe we’ve met i ought to recall.

But some are the times you are more unfamiliar to me.

I will love you so dearly, it’s true and i will be loved i dream.

Hoping to get a hold of you, on that very fine day i believe exist.

Baby Smile Illustration

Abstract Illustration- Baby Smile, with no regrets. Your smile some live for.

Quite long since the last update, anyhow today i am here posting an abstract concept.

Tools: Adobe Illustrator - making the shapes, curves (circles and rectangles)

Adobe Photoshop: giving colors and simply i prefer getting output from here.

The project is really fun to work with. At first i was a bit frustrated as things were tiny and confusing. But it goes on and yay !  It’s done. At college i was advice to work with my line quality and pressure control by my teacher during our Fundamental Class. So i start making strokes in various directions. I keep on doing the same and after sometime a thought come to me with a graphics visual with this kind of strokes and so i started making out on the paper and hence i started working it out in Photoshop at home. I decided the best way i can get multiple strokes is Ai. i use circles mostly, where i strike out which are unnecessary using Divide tool. So on, i started giving fill colors but I was not satisfied with the output i get from Ai and the next day which is today i export each layer and import them in Ps where i get what i wanted with the background i made using downloaded custom free brush. Also i made changes to some layers where i duplicate and reuse them in different position. And also i use the pen tool in Ps too like in when i decided the mouth to be curvy (previous idea was a rectangle) and many more.

I guess i have written quite a lot including unnecessary lines. I know. I just couldn't explain it much clearer, i guess it’s because it’s really simple.

Practice make you more precise and enable you reaching perfection closer and closer. If you have the passion dont let it slip away. Do Practice a lot. :Peace:
